I shortened her face a bit, and I think it made a big difference. I think I finally got her cheeks round enough, and her chin round enough while having a narrow jaw still. I might pull her chin up just a smidge more. I still want to do more to her nose - it should be more sloped, and pointier at the tip. I need to darken her freckles a bit too. But she's getting there!
Her eye color is wrong here - it looked okay to start, but then I switched my eye defaults (
using these now), so now the color is off. Hers are supposed to be more of a flatter and darker gray, rather than light blue with the brown flecks (though that is very pretty - it's just not hers, lol!).
She has a tube top on, by the way. She's not nekkid ;)
I wish there was a way to zoom in closer on their faces in CAS - is there? It's so far zoomed out that I can't really see what the sliders are changing on a lot of them. Some of them don't seem to change much of anything at all. :\
But anyway, it's only my second day with the game, lol!
I'm sure you all have been watching the TS3 sunrise and sunsets for years now, but it's still a novelty to me. Damn, it's gorgeous! I could watch it all day! So you'll have to pardon me if I take far too many pictures of the sky in the beginning here! :D
When I first got the game I used to just make them drive around because I thought the scenery was so pretty. The first time I saw the water I actually gasped! Summer looks great, I can't wait to see what you do with Sims 3!
ReplyDeleteI think you can zoom in? I'll have to go away and check.
ReplyDeleteShe looks way much more like herself now.
The jaw mechanics is definitely the most different thing between TS2 and TS3.
I think you'd zoom in using scroll? That feels right, though I haven't played for a while.
ReplyDeleteAwww, she's so pretty!
Oooh, wow! The last picture is particularly lovely.
ReplyDeleteBut yes, Summer is looking much closer to TS2 Summer now! I was going to suggest pulling her chin up a little but I see you've already had the same thought. ;)
I'm pretty sure you can zoom in on faces in CAS. I never have a problem not being close enough when I'm sculpting Sims anyway. :\
Rachel, I know, I wonder how long it'll be before I can stop gawking over the pretty and actually play the game, lol!
ReplyDeleteKiri, yes, I remember you bitching about the jaws when you were making Corbin, lol! I see what you mean now!
Lunar, that might be the thing - I'm on my laptop, so I don't have a scroll wheel. Maybe I'll steal the mouse from my desktop and see if that makes a difference.
Carla, the last one was my favorite too! I have about twelve different angles and versions of it, lol!
So far, when editing faces, the closest I can zoom is this. I'm sure it doesn't help that my laptop screen is so small, but I remember in TS2, when editing eyes or whatever, the face would fill up the whole screen. But here, it's still zoomed out to half of her torso. And it's really hard to work on eyes when they're so far away and tiny - I bet I could do a much better job if I could really see the details better.
Or well, I guess P'bucket squashed that screenshot a little - the real size is 1280x768, but that's not much bigger anyway. Still though, you can see how the face doesn't fill up the whole screen like it would in TS2.
ReplyDeleteShe looks great Laura.
ReplyDeleteI want to invite you to my new forum Hell Has Spoken. http://hellhasspoken.proboards.com/index.cgi
It's kinda like the old VSS, but new and improved. And I would really really like it more if you were there. :)
