No, really, guess! Because I don't think she looks much like her TS2 counterpart at all, lol! Or at least not as much as I'd like. I need to find some better hacked sliders or something. The only CC I've got so far is eyes and skins, and I'm sure some better makeup and clothing would make a world of difference as well.
So I did it, people! I finally bit the bullet and bought TS3!!! I have Ambitions installed so far, and have Late Night waiting to install next, but I'm worried it'll blow my laptop. I'm quite surprised my laptop is running this game at all, because I honestly didn't think it would. I was supposed to wait until I bought a new computer, but you know... I didn't, lol!
I plan on recreating Lakeside Heights from scratch, in a custom made world. (For real? Yes, I'm going to at least try, lol!) It won't be an exact replica, but I want it to be damn close. I'll be trying to put all three subhoods in one TS3 world, so it's gonna be huge! Because I'm super neurotic and need to have my map, roads, land, and water laid out just the way I want it. Who knows if it'll turn out or not - I haven't even had a look at Create-a-World yet, and from what I hear, it's a bear! :o
But anyway, LH stories will be told with TS2 for quite a while still. At least through the end of the current season. And I've still got a lot of RL work to get done, so I don't expect this to happen very quickly. But keep checking back here if you're interested in the progress, and I might have some pictures to show off every now and then ;)
Yay, TS3 Summer! She's very pretty, even if she's not exactly like TS2 Summer. I am most definitely interested in any more TS3 progress you make, so keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteOooh, if you learn World Builder, you can have Lake City actually be linked by road to Lakeside Heights, rather than just pretending they are in your mind! That will be awesome.
I have actually, out of curiosity, tried to make a couple of my TS2 Sims in TS3. Some turned out better than other. I remade a pre-Sullivan Sim and she turned out pretty much exactly the way she was in TS2. Others were not so successful. I guess it depends on what features you're going for. Some features lend themselves better to TS3 than others. :\
She's gorgeous. I love her eyes and nose. Even if it's not her, it's still a pretty awesome sim.
ReplyDeleteThere's something about recreating TS2 sims for TS3. I wonder if they'll ever look right really.
Ooh, so exciting! I was very pleased to see Summer, she's my favourite character from LH and I can't wait to see how the rest of them transfer over.
ReplyDeleteI've posted a little 'resource for world builders' over at my blog and while it's somewhat meager at the moment, I hope to eventually flesh it out with more helpful links and maybe some tutorials of my own. CAW is certainly a bear, but she can be tamed!
Am looking forward to seeing your progress and how it all turns out. You are very brave to go for CAW, I tried but gave up in the end...I do not have enough patience for it. I do wish all the best for you, hope you succeed :)
ReplyDeleteYou've got Corbin in TS3 already, and I'm happy to help out with the sims making if you want some help.
ReplyDeleteAlso I can point you to some useful custom content as well.
CAW is pretty horrible - but there are some alternative worlds if you can't get your head around it. AND if you do... I'd bet there'd be a ton of people come begging you for the one you make!
I think TS3 Summer is looking pretty good :D
Just throwing it out there, but is that Summer? Anywho, if you figure out World builder please help me and hold my hand. That thing is so confusing it's not even funny. Talk about ripping my hair out. So far, your game looks good. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteThanks for following along everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteCarla, yes! I have the map all drawn out the way I want it, with the road going over the river on a bridge! :D I'd love to fit all three neighborhoods on the map (or well, I kind of have to, since there aren't subhoods in TS3), but I hope it'll actually run since it's gonna be HUGE!
But the problems I'm having so far with this laptop are graphics things, rather than processing/speed things, so I might be okay.
Lunar, she did turn out quite pretty! I might keep v.1 and change her hair and eyecolor and make her a townie or something! :)
Rachel, I just saw that post of yours last night, and I'll definitely be finding that useful! Thank you! :)
Speechless, thanks! I hope it works out! I wouldn't say I'm brave so much as stubborn, lol! I'll just keep banging my head against the wall until something clicks! ;)
Kiri, OMG, I forgot I had Corbin! Maybe I'll stick him in Sunset Valley with Summer for now. (Corbin and Summer, OMG, now there's a story! lol!)
Oh, which reminds me, I need to figure out how to get Summer *out* of Sunset Valley when the time comes, lol! I'm sure there must be a way to move her or something?
Riverdale, yup, it's (supposed to be) Summer, lol! I'm really liking the game so far. It's kind of clunky to control on my laptop, but that's only temporary, and I should be able to get a new desktop to run it on soon.
Ha, if I figure out anything at all, maybe I'll do a little write up on what I know. What part did you find the hardest?
