pajama party...

Please don't mind me, because I'm not sure if this is a worthy post, or just a chance to see Dallas and Lucy in their skivvies, lol! TS3 does them well!

Oh, but wait, what I wanted to talk about was SKINS! Yes, that's what it was. Skins. I found a new set of skin-shade sliders for my lovely alien family! So I thought I'd use Dallas to test them out. Of course, for comparing them to a normal human skin, we'll need Lucy to demonstrate the difference. That's what this is really about. Yes, that's right!... ;)

So the following skins are all within the same slider range, which is pretty cool! This is set #18, from here: @GOS by scones. Dallas and his sisters will wear the skin and shade above (which as you can see, is a lot pinker and human-like in game than it is in CAS). The neat thing about these color sliders is that they work with your default skins, and just by nudging the shade along the slider, you get all kinds of really cool and individual tones! So awesome!

Again, all of these shades are on the same slider. Other sliders just have a different range of color tones - anything you could imagine!

The shade on the left is one I think I'll use for Orion. And the shade in the middle is a lot like what Orion's natural skincolor used to be, which just might come in handy in the future of this story! ;)

The extreme end of this slider looks something like this, lol! Not something I'll ever use in my story, I don't think, but still very cool!

And again, I love that while some of these shades are quite out there - a lot of them are also very human-like and unique.

But I suppose that by putting one of these sliders on a human Sim, they'll be genetically likely to pass on the skin to their children, who might come out in a different slider range and end up bright pink, lol! Ah well, nothing the Master Controller - Edit in CAS can't fix ;)

Now one for comparison: TS3 Lucy and Dallas vs. their TS2 versions.

I got a new bunch of facial sliders, so I was able to do more work with Dallas's forehead and jawline, which I'm a lot happier with now.

I do miss the TS2 short ponytail hair I had on Dallas (and Corbin!) most recently though. Man, that was a good ponytail, lol!

  1. Yes, I love that ponytail! I hope someone converts it so you can have it for TS3. I'm using the TS2 version on Oliver right now and I found him infinitely more attractive as soon as I put it on him! ;)

Anyway, yes, I think these skintones are just right for Dallas and Lucy! You can really see how close you got TS3 Lucy to her TS3 version in that last pic as well. Was Dallas's TS2 skintone an alien tone or just a super-pale "human" tone?

  2. Carla, that was definitely one of my favorite TS2 male hairs! Definitely!

Yes, Dallas and his sisters were just in a super-pale version of the regular skintone I used. Orion wore a fantasy one though.

TS3 Lucy is close! I think her TS2 version had a little more puppy-fat in the cheeks, but I'm going to call it growing up and just leave her as is, because I love how she turned out.

I finally found a hair like the one she wore in TS2 as well, so I think that helps! :)

  3. Lucy looks so pretty! She looks so much like Lucy in TS2 and I definitely can see that Dallas is an alien, even though not too obvious. He looks handsome.

Where did you get the hair? She looks so pretty. Oops! I said it twice.

  4. MJ, thanks! :) I know I got her hair from the EA store, and it was in one of those wedding packages, the plain version of one of the bridal hairs, but I can't find the set to link to it now :\

  5. Ah, it's the plain version of this hair, though I couldn't find the actual plain version in the store. I guess maybe they take things down or something, after a certain time?

  6. What? Skin sliders? Oh right, lol. The pictures up top are just so cute, lol.

Actually, the hair without the veil is here by Wojtek.

  8. Can I just say that I LOVE TS3 versions of Lucy and Dallas? They look so good. Talk about a labor of love. I'm excited to see how well everyone else works out. =D

  9. Choco, thank you! These are two of the first ones I made, so they've been through a lot of revisions. Every time I look I find something else I want to fix though, lol! (I could do a little more work to Dallas's eyes now that I know how to use my new sliders.)

I'm gathering up quite the collection so far (28 at the moment in various states of finished). Which means I have probably 100 left to go, lol!
