Justin is still first draft at the moment, and I think it's kind of funny that he was one of the ones picked on, because I think he turned out pretty close for a first attempt, though I can see some work I want to do around his jawline and eyes. But Stephanie is DONE!
(Or well, now I'm noticing that her chin could be the tiniest bit less pointy, but mostly, she's done.)
(She has the adventurous trait in game, which suits how she always wanted to travel in the story.)
But besides looking similar, most importantly, she really feels like Stephanie to me. And that's what really matters, because when I see her in game or when I'm posing her, I feel like it's really her, and then her voice comes out (hearing voices in my head, you know, like the crazy writer-person I am, lol!), and I can write her easily.
Justin is really close, but he's still not there yet. It might be the hair, so I'll keep trying some others.
Some of them still don't feel right yet, and it makes it harder to write them. Willow is one of those at the moment, and maybe that's even just a TS3 toddler thing. Or maybe I just need to find a more similar hair for her or something. Jeremiah is still a little off, even though I swear I got his features 100% identical. Keri is not right to me, which is odd because Mariah feels fine and they have identical faces, lol! But then, a lot of times it really does come down to a hairstyle or accessory or outfit. I need to find Keri's big hoop earrings, maybe that'll do the trick. And I miss the braids she used to wear. The base game braids are just not doing it for me, and I haven't been able to find any others. :\
But you know, I'll just keep picking at them, and they'll get there eventually.
I'm just glad I have Justin and Stephanie close though, because they have my first full TS3 story! :D
TS3 Stephanie is really pretty and yeah, I think you definitely got her there! I agree that Justin isn't quite right but I couldn't put my finger on what it is - the hair would probably make at least some difference. It's just that there are so few guy hairstyles (for both games, really) - it must be hard to find an exact match. But a lot of people are doing TS2->TS3 conversions, so hopefully that one will come along sooner or later.

Oh, you know, now that you mention it! I think that's the same hair that Shana uses for her Xander, isn't it? And I think she found a TS3 copy for him, so I'll have to find out where she got it! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it's an odd combination of their look and mannerisms that makes them feel right. And then I have to play them against each other to see how they look together. Some of them feel more right than others at this point, but I've got plenty of time to work on them as the stories come along.
Stephanie looks great. I think Justin's lips are spot on. I agree with Carla about the hair, and the shape of the eyes seem a little off from TS2 Justin to me. Of course, it could just be the lighting or camera angle.
