LH world progress report

I think, back in March when my computer blew up, I was too pissed off to post about all the work I'd done to my LH world. I'd done a LOT, which is why I was so mad, lol!

I didn't lose any of it though, but after a long break, I'm finally getting back to the world building again.

I know the lot lines are unsightly here, and it's zoomed so far out it's hard to see much detail at all, but I'm posting this one because I think it highlights the fact that I've planned a RIDICULOUS amount of lots for this world, lol! I'm still not sure I'll be able to fill them all and still play the world, but I'm hoping. I'm hoping the openness of the country and forest spaces will balance out the fullness of the city, and allow for some good playability still. That's the theory anyway.

In total, I have about 110 residential lots and 105 community lots planned throughout the whole of Lake County. Only about 10% of those are built on so far! I have a lot of work ahead of me still.

In terms of Sims, I have almost all of my starting families made now. There are only 45 "main characters" to follow from the start though. But I'd like to make some more "filler" Sims to take jobs and wander around in the background. It might even be fun to see what Story Progression does with them, since I'm such a control freak with my own Sims. ;)

My son started school last week, and I'm hoping to start posting on my blogs again soon. I'll probably focus more on getting the last few LH updates out before I start the new story, but I'm also itching to start the new one too, so that probably won't be long either.

  1. I'm so glad you didn't lose your LH world! I think I would have cried, if I lost all that work! It looks awesome so far. Are you getting Seasons? The beaches will be awesome with Seasons!

Story Progression can be fun but I've realised I don't have the stomach for most of it! I have almost everything turned off now, lol! Control freak? Quite possibly. ;)

  2. Yes, I'm *definitely* getting seasons! I have so many EPs to catch up on! I'll probably get Seasons, Supernatural, and Showtime at the same time. I still have Pets to install too. I'm worried about overloading my little laptop though. It plays really nicely right now, and I don't want to bog it down. I seem to need a little bit of something from each EP though (apart from Pets, so far, which is why it's still waiting to be installed, lol!)

I wonder if there will be anything special we have to do to the beach lots to make them swimmable?

And ha! That's why I want to use background Sims to play with the story progression, and not my own! ;)

  3. By "beach lots" I meant beach areas, lol! I'm still stuck in TS2 thinking it seems!

Oh God, I hadn't thought of that. I really hope not!

  6. I love your LH world! It looks fantastic. Are you going to make the world available for download? I would love to have the empty world so I can build my own neighborhood there.

  7. Hi Sarah! I do plan to share it when I finally get it finished enough. I'm still running into some minor routing glitches at the moment, and I wouldn't want to put it up for download until that's fixed.

It won't be completely empty though. Since this update, I think about 20% of the lots are built on now, and by the time I'm happy enough with it to share, it'll probably be about 30% built on. But of course you can just delete whatever lots you don't want. ;)
