Anyway, since I've got the whole cast figured out now, I thought I would share! I don't know if this might be interesting to you guys, but it might be, lol!
There will be a LOT of characters, but not all of them will take center stage in the first book. Some characters won't be introduced until the 2nd and 3rd books. Likewise, not all major storylines will start right from the first book, because you know, that would be really cluttered! I do think all the major storylines are in action by the 2nd book though.
Dallas's family, all main characters:
Dallas - main character
Orion - IT programmer
Violet - sci-fi writer
Delphie - sister
Dakota - sister
Cabe - main character, Orion's brother, Dallas's uncle, CIA/military, friends with Madison
Ashlee and Natalia, Cabe's family, minor characters
Harris family:
Lucy - main character, Dallas's girlfriend
Sarah - Lucy's sister
"April" - Lucy's mom, will be renamed
Toby and Sam, minor characters
Aurora - main character, Lucy's aunt
Joel - Aurora's husband, Lucy's uncle
children: Zach and (eventually) Rebecca, minor until later books
Miller Family:
Blake and Clarice - main characters, Aurora's best friends
children: Eliott and Emily, minor until later books
Summer's family:
Summer - main character
Hayden
Sophie and Michael, Hayden's parents
(Rhianna) - Hayden's first wife, deceased at the start
"Piper" - Hayden's second wife, will be renamed

Tyler - main character, Summer's long-time boyfriend

This is all very exciting! I like Keri's description - "feisty wannabe warrior"!

I agree, this is exciting, but what about Mariah? Is she a minor character or the subject of an entirely different book? (I haven't finished EWTF yet , so if she is mentioned in that, ignore me. :))

ReplyDeleteCarla, I'm planning to start the books when most of the main kids are 16/17, so considering the blog started when they were just turning 12/13, it'll end up being quite a bit later. Some of the earlier stories might be retold as memories though, if needed. The first book focuses on Orion's family and their decision to tell or keep their alien heritage a secret, so as for the blog, that would have been about fall of 2080 and forward.
Snarky, Mariah's story is so big and complete on its own that it didn't really fit into this world. It didn't have much to do with the war anyway. Hers was one of the few stories that I felt okay with how it came out on the blog. If Keri has a sister in the books, I'll probably rename her to avoid conflicts. (Though for the sake of this story, it may work out better if she *doesn't* have a sister, because that would heighten the conflict between Madison and Keri, if Keri was an only child. Bwahahah! MOAR conflict! lol!) But as for Mariah's story, I'd love to edit and republish in book form at some point (along with Luke, Jim, Chandler and Jane too!), but I don't know when that'll be. For now, I'm happy to have it live on the blog.
